This kind of attitude is very evident in his works dominated by lively, relaxed lines and expressive spots. The artworks seem joyful and positive – no wonder Kepežinskas is mostly recognised for his drawings of elongated dachshunds.
From 1974 to 1980 the artist studied at Lithuanian Art Institute. He creates prints, posters, works as a graphic designer, however is best known as a calligrapher possessing a unique style, and a largely productive book illustrator. He was awarded the UNICEF prize in 1992 at Bologna Kids’ Books Fair, and received a prize at the 2001 European Biennale in Japan, whereas his home country honoured him in 2006 by giving Kepežinskas a National Culture and Art Award.
