The book “Stebuklingas pyragas” [Miraculous Pie] – which Gesevičius illustrated – carries a texture structured by strokes of a brush and also intensive background colours that help uncover the traits of the characters. The artist uses surrealist elements as well, giving the world he portraits magical attributes and opening portals to other spaces.
Gesevičius graduated as a graphic artist from Vilnius Art Institute, proceeding to create posters, exlibris, prints, illustrating books, painting. The artworks of his late period are poetic, philosophical, full of images from Eastern and Western cultures like pyramids, towers and columns.
