The composition of watercolours is simple on purpose – it’s understandable for the child, and it doesn’t overcomplicate the text with additional interpretations and meanings. Looking at the artworks by Rūta makes you realise that she loves what she does and creates the illustrations with immense respect for this art form.
Rūta Lelytė illustrated such Lithuanian classic kids’ books as “Kliudžiau” [I Got It] by Jonas Biliūnas, and has created the visuals for the country’s temporary money – the talons, as well as designed Alfredas Bumblauskas’ book “Senosios Lietuvos istorija 1009–1975” [The Story of Old Lithuania 1009–1975].
